Labeling
Labeling terms
Version draft-2026-09-18
These terms are between you and PXL8 Technology, Inc. ("the company", "we"). Pansofica is the company’s records business. They cover the labeling work you do at the labeling desk. They are written in plain words on purpose. If a sentence is unclear, ask us before you join.
- 01
You are an independent contractor
You do this work as an independent contractor. Nothing here makes you an employee, a worker, a partner or an agent of the company, and there is no employment between us.
You choose when you work and whether you work at all. You use your own equipment and you cover your own costs.
- 02
What you make belongs to the company
Your labels, your notes, your concerns and your conversations with the helper are work made for hire for the company, as far as the law allows.
Where the law does not treat something as work made for hire, you assign all rights in it to PXL8 Technology, Inc., everywhere and for good, from the moment you make it. You will not be named as its author and you give up any claim to it.
- 03
What you see is confidential
Everything you see at the desk is confidential: the records, the rules, the examples, the helper’s replies and how the work is organized.
Do not share it, publish it or talk about its content with anyone outside the company, during the work or after it.
- 04
The material is pseudonymized, and it stays that way
The records you see are pseudonymized. Names, places and register names are invented and dates are moved.
Do not copy the material, take screenshots or photographs of it, or save it outside the desk.
- 05
No re-identification, and no outside sources
Do not try to work out who a record is really about, and do not try to re-identify any person from the material, during the work or after it. The shape of a career is real even though the names, places and dates are not, and that is exactly why this rule matters.
Do not use outside sources while labeling: no search engines, no record sites, no social media, and no asking other people. Do not search for the people, the events or the documents elsewhere. Your answer comes from the page in front of you and the rules, and from nothing else.
[For counsel: confirm the wording and the remedy for a breach of this clause.]
- 06
No personal data leaves the platform
The desk is built so that no real person’s details reach you. If you ever believe you are looking at a real person’s details, stop, raise a concern on that pair, and do not keep or pass on what you saw.
- 07
Acceptance and quality
Every set carries check items with known answers. They look like every other item. Your answers to them decide whether the set is accepted.
A label counts only when two people give the same answer. Where they differ, an expert decides.
A set may wait for a person to look at it before it is accepted.
A set in which you say Same for two people we know are different is not accepted.
A set that is not accepted is not paid, and its answers are not used.
Raising a concern takes the pair out of your set and does not count against you.
- 08
Payment
You are paid a flat amount per accepted set. The amount is shown on your account page at the desk, and it may change from one round to the next.
Payment is made through Stripe Connect. You set up a Stripe account to be paid. The company never asks for or holds your bank details.
In round 1, accepted sets are recorded against your account and nothing is sent to your bank yet. Your account page shows what is recorded and what has been paid.
Your taxes are yours to report and pay. Where tax forms are needed, they are collected and issued through Stripe.
- 09
No guarantee of work
We do not promise any amount of work, any number of sets, or that work will be on offer at any given time. You do not promise us any amount of work either.
- 10
Helper conversations are stored
The helper is a computer program, not a person. What you write to it and what it replies are stored with the pair you were looking at. We read these conversations to improve the rules and to keep the helper from giving answers.
Do not put personal information about yourself or anyone else into the helper or into a note.
- 11
Leaving, and being removed
You can stop at any time. Sets accepted before you stop are still paid.
We can pause or remove an account from the labeling pool at any time, for example for answers that keep failing the check items, for sharing material, or for trying to identify people. Sets accepted before removal are still paid unless they were obtained by breaking these terms.
- 12
Changes to these terms
If these terms change we will tell you, and you can stop at any time.
- 13
Governing law
[For counsel: governing law, venue and dispute resolution to be set before these terms are final.]
